I call the ever present force that is all over our
TVs from January to June American Idol. Time consuming and soul sucking is it not? I feel like A.I. runs for about as long as some professional sports.
I watched the first season... Who didn't? I watched the 2
ND as well.
RUUUUUBBBEEE! (Shouts out to
Rueben Studdard) After that I was here and there hit and miss. I honestly just didn't have the time. I am currently working on and forcing myself into a quieter lifestyle and
tv is a good way to start that. American Idol was a good way to sit me down. (At least on Tuesday and Wednesday) I am also under the impression that one may miss out on 30% of office conversation in the morning if the didn't watch A.I. the previous night.
I'll stop ranting on the show and how ridiculously brain dead Paula Abdul is, after I mention that it's kinda boring this year. I don't have a favorite. I am also a bit upset that David Lambert is such a
flaming drag queen and won't stop the side show and just come out in some red
stilettos and dance to
Beyonce.
I would also just like to touch upon
Miley Cyrus...
ummm. First I don't like her speaking voice. It's too deep. I give her credit though for taking on the industry the way she did, and hell she has been quite successful, so rock on
Miley! At the end of the day though, I think she needs to find herself and her center. She needs to grow up and be more of a lady. Not a 16 year old girl headbanging in a designer gown. With some more polishing she can stick around in the Real World, not Disney Land. And with some time she can run with the big dogs and have the staying power of Carrie Underwood, Kelly
Pickler, or even her
counterpart and "best friend" Taylor Swift.
